Education

Having focused my education on visual arts, I was lucky enough to experience a very hands-on learning environment allowing me many years of full expression and exploration. Being able to branch my visions into as many mediums as I could really helped keep a clear connection with inspiration.

Along the way there have been specific people who showed me more than schooling could. Family that uses arT just to have a space to let themselves feel, or that love and express their faith through the art their hands can make. A teacher that never stopped their passion even when they were finished with the working world. Seeing how art holds a space in the lives of people who were on different paths than I wanted to walk, helped me learn more about how art connects people. And assured me this is my direction in life.

Current Focus

I am currently in what I call the working season of my life, I have had my time with expression, education and play. Now I get to stick through the journey. I am creating to truly demonstrate my scope of understanding and ability so that I can begin my career. Although there will never be a point where I can say I have learned all I can. But the commitment of time and focus on creating to have something to look back on is in my reach. A portfolio is a never-ending goal, that I am excited to reach. Having filled dozens of sketchbooks in my life, taking the time to curate something refined and finished is a thrilling thought. I feel often the idea of drawing anything people ask for is a scattering approach to expanding, yet all I can feel is the joy of having more ahead of me to do.

Mediums

Mediums that are under my brush these days are generally broad. In the moments that I paint, I’ll reach for acrylics and watercolours. Any sketches that need to get their way on a page are doing so through inks, water based markers and graphite. And there is always going to be the fluidity of digital art, started with a classic table and laptop nowadays an Ipad. When I am not creating the visual arts I know are a part of my future and vision, I explore and continue to learn. So I’ll keep stretching my creativity and enjoy the low stress that comes with personal creation in crochet, sculpturing and photography. After a point it can be very difficult to discern what is my “art medium” and in the end I would say anything I can get my hands on.

End Thought

Having the chance to share these visions and feelings is such a wonderful experience. The more I learn, the more I find to be inspired about. Thank you for joining me on this journey, and I hope you find something beautiful to love today. In a world full of people, memories and new experiences.
